On November 16th, Exago Inc. released version 2018.2 of their award-winning enterprise business intelligence solution, Exago BI. With its long list of enhancements geared toward expanding accessibility and complexity of reporting while emphasizing ease of use, power and casual users alike will benefit from this update. Major enhancements include Filter by Formula, native support for NoSQL databases, and ExpressView Tutorial mode.
The highlight of this release is Filter by Formula, a powerful feature that touches every layer of the application where filters are accessed but is still easy to use. Filter by Formula enables users to apply custom formulas and formula columns as filter criteria on transformed and combined field data. Report builders can create formula filters in the familiar filter windows of the ExpressView and Advanced Report designers. With more granular filter criteria, users can craft even more precise reports.
End-User Tutorials and other ExpressView enhancements make Exago’s most user-friendly report designer even easier to learn and maneuver. Optional tutorials guide new users through the report creation process and offer tips as users click through menus and add data fields. Right-click menus and interactive editing make customizing ExpressViews a breeze.
On the back end, Exago has partnered with CData to allow native support for NoSQL databases, including MongoDB and Elasticsearch. This enhancement is a result of Exago’s accessibility initiative as it opens up Exago BI to even more client environments and their end-users.
Along with these major enhancements come a slew of new features that contribute to an overall more robust product. Increased reporting and dashboard capabilities, including more dynamic templates and advanced reports, as well as more scheduling options number among the bonuses users get with this release.
